Kilmarnock ESG Statement
Kilmarnock Enterprises is an Ōtautahi/Christchurch, New Zealand-based social enterprise that creates meaningful employment opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities. Kilmarnock offers these opportunities through our outsourcing relationships with a variety of businesses across New Zealand. Kilmarnock works with commercial clients to secure contract work across collation, packing, sorting, processing and more. We then follow customised procedures to ensure that our work can be confidently delivered to a high standard by our diverse team.
At Kilmarnock, we believe that meaningful employment can be the key to unlocking a purposeful and self-determined life. The opportunities we offer our employees have a real and tangible impact on their lives. With our customers’ support, we continue to create meaningful employment for people with intellectual disabilities.
Beyond our social focus, Kilmarnock Enterprises also places a strong emphasis on environmental responsibility. One-third of our commercial income is derived from diverting materials from landfill. For one of our clients, we strip, clean and re-prepare sample testing canisters. The size of this contract is such that we are able to salvage the equivalent weight of an African Elephant in plastic each year.
Kilmarnock Enterprises is governed by a diverse and experienced Board of Directors and receives support and guidance from a Board of Trustees.
