Since its formation in 1958, the Kilmarnock Trust has worked to uphold the values of the Kilmarnock Enterprises founder, Miss Christabel Robinson.
Miss Robinson believed that all people are valuable and deserving of compassion, respect and dignity. Her values continue to guide the Kilmarnock Trust and Enterprise as we work towards a future where all people, including those with intellectual disabilities, have equal access to meaningful employment and development opportunities.
Our Purpose
The Kilmarnock Trust has several core objectives. We seek to support people with intellectual disabilities to engage meaningfully with their communities, while supporting growth in their skill sets to facilitate purposeful employment. The Trust also works to raise and maintain awareness of issues faced by people with intellectual disabilities.
We believe that with the right support, people with intellectual disabilities can lead fulfilling, self-determined lives. We are committed to supporting initiatives that provide people with intellectual disabilities the key to unlock their potential.
Fundraising
Kilmarnock Enterprises offers its employees a wide range of training, development and health and wellbeing initiatives. Together, these programmes form the Kilmarnock Employment Pathway. The Employment Pathway provides a clear path for people with intellectual disabilities to enter employment, grow in skill and confidence and transition into mainstream employment opportunities. With the current level of funding available, the number of people who can be supported through the Employment Pathway is limited. The Kilmarnock Trust wants to change that.
