How do I get a job at Kilmarnock?
Ring and make an appointment to visit and have a look through Kilmarnock, to see for yourself if it is the kind of place you would like to work. If you like what you see, you can apply to do Work Experience. Every applicant completes at least six days work experience.

During Work Experience your capabilities and potential will be assessed. If work experience is successful you will be invited to make an appointment with the Chief Executive for application to become a full time employee.

What sort of factory work does Kilmarnock do?
We receive contracts from manufacturing businesses, which involve a variety of tasks including:

  • simple to complex assembly work
  • folding and collating documents
  • labeling and mailing letters and magazines
  • packing
  • shrink-wrapping

The Kilmarnock employees also do:

  • woodwork - for contracts and toy production
  • sewing (industrial and doll's bedding)
  • food packing
  • cane work

Employees are given tasks to match their level of ability and work skills, and can be supported to learn more challenging and interesting work.

Do I get paid?
Yes! Each Team Member undergoes a Wage Assessment and is paid either a part or full wage. This process will further be explained to you doing your application appointment.

Quality Standards
Kilmarnock Enterprises has been audited by ACC Workplace Incentive Programs' and has achieved a Secondary Standard for its Workplace Safety Management Practices

Kilmarnock has a service evaluation carried out by SAMs.

Assessments: We use a procedure that is approved by the Ministry of Social Development and the Department Of Labour to determine the level at which each Team Member is working and is able to be paid accordingly. The Department of Labour will issue a Minimum Wage Exemption if the level is below the market rate.

Our staff carry out their duties in a professional manner and will work with you to achieve your highest level of ability.
